This video shows an incredibly detailed close-up slow-motion shot of the three Space Shuttle main engines during launch. The event is covered by multiple cameras, filming at up to 60,000 frames per second.
One of the NASA engineers providing commentary, Matt Melis, says: "Photographic documentation of a space shuttle launch plays a critical role in the engineering analysis and evaluation process that takes place during each and every mission."
Today, in addition to the scientific and engineering data that the videos provide, the videos are also great spaceporn for us to enjoy.
